Sticky Notes Anywhere – Privacy Policy

Sticky Notes Anywhere (“we”, “our”, “the Product”) includes:

  • A Chrome extension that lets you create sticky notes on webpages, saved per website

  • An optional web dashboard (“Dashboard”) for managing synced notes

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what control you have.

1) What data we collect

A) Data you create (notes content)

When you use Sticky Notes Anywhere, you may create:

  • Note text you type

  • Images you add into notes (optional)

  • Note settings such as color, position, size, dock/minimize state, and timestamps

B) Website association (needed for “notes per website”)

To keep notes separate per website, the extension uses the current site’s domain/URL context (example: youtube.com).
This is used only to show the right notes on the right site.

C) Account data (only if you choose to use cloud sync)

Cloud sync is optional. If you log in to the Dashboard and enable sync, we may process:

  • Your email address

  • If you sign in with Google: your Google account email and basic profile details (as provided by Google)

D) Technical data (for reliability)

We may collect limited technical diagnostics to improve stability, such as:

  • Error logs and crash details (for example via error monitoring tools)

  • Browser/device info (non-sensitive), timestamps, and basic app state at time of error

2) What we do NOT collect

  • We do not sell your data.

  • We do not collect or sell your browsing history for advertising.

  • We do not read unrelated page content. Notes are created by you and displayed only when you use the extension.

3) Where your data is stored

Local-only mode (default)

By default, notes are stored locally in your browser using Chrome storage. They stay on your device unless you delete them.

Cloud sync mode (optional)

If you enable cloud sync, your notes (including images you attach) and note metadata are stored in our database so you can access them from the Dashboard and across devices.

4) How we use your data

We use the collected data only to:

  • Create, display, edit, and manage your notes

  • Keep notes tied to the correct website

  • Provide optional syncing between extension and dashboard

  • Prevent abuse and maintain security

  • Diagnose issues and improve product stability (error monitoring)

5) Third-party services

If you use cloud features, we use the following services to provide the Product:

  • Supabase (authentication and database for cloud sync)

  • Sentry (error monitoring for stability)

These services are used only to operate and maintain the Product.

6) Data retention

  • Local notes remain on your device until you delete them.

  • Synced notes remain in your account until you delete them from the extension or the Dashboard.

  • If you want your account and synced data deleted, contact us using the email below.

7) Your choices and controls

You can:

  • Use Sticky Notes Anywhere without logging in (local-only)

  • Turn cloud sync on/off anytime

  • Delete notes anytime from the extension or dashboard

8) Security

We use secure connections (HTTPS/TLS) when communicating with our backend services.

9) Chrome Web Store / Chrome API compliance

Sticky Notes Anywhere’s use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
